Warga Apresiasi Penataan Kawasan di Jl Siliwangi Ujung Menteng

Ujung Menteng Orange Personnel Bring Color and Culture to Siliwangi Road

Ten PPSU personnel from Ujung Menteng, East Jakarta, have breathed new life into Jalan Siliwangi with a series of vibrant murals.

We are now officially at the halfway point

The 2.5-meter-wide street, which serves as the boundary between East Jakarta and Bekasi, was once lackluster and drab. Now, it has been transformed into a visually stunning path, showcasing a colorful array of Indonesia's architectural heritage—from traditional houses of Betawi and Bali to those of North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Central Java, and East Java.

Ujung Menteng Economy and Development Section Head, Pipit Ayu Suwandari revealed that the PPSU personnel made the mural along a factory boundary wall and a residential access road, spanning approximately 25 meters in length and 2.5 meters in height.

Jalan Kosambi Now Adorned with Murals and Lush Greenery

"We deployed 10 personnel to revitalize this area, ensuring it looks tidy, polished, and inviting," she expressed, Friday (8/7).

She noted that the murals of traditional houses serve as a symbol of Jakarta’s identity as a vibrant melting pot, home to people from all over Indonesia.

"Beyond the artwork, our team also cleared the drainage systems and installed vertical gardens along with various potted plants to further enhance the area," she explained.

Work on the area’s transformation kicked off in early July and is on track to be finished by September.

"We are now officially at the halfway point, with 50 percent of the work completed," she stated.
