Jakarta Remains Indonesia's Top Investment Destination

Jakarta once again recorded the highest investment realization among Indonesian provinces in the first half of 2026.

Jakarta's strong investment performance is supported by various advantages

Data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) showed that Jakarta recorded Rp173.6 trillion in investment or 17.2 percent of total national investment. The figure comprised Rp106.5 trillion in domestic investment (PMDN) and Rp67.1 trillion in foreign investment (PMA).

Head of the Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (PMPTSP) Agency, Heru Hermawanto, said the achievement reflects strong investor confidence in Jakarta's investment climate and shows that the capital remains Indonesia's top investment destination.

"Growing investor confidence is the result of synergy among various stakeholders in creating a conducive business climate, supported by policies under Jakarta Governor Pramono that prioritize investment facilitation and public services in the city's development," he said on Friday (8/7).

According to Heru, Jakarta's ability to retain its leading position in national investment was supported by various service innovations developed by the Jakarta PMPTSP Agency.

These efforts include optimizing Public Service Malls (MPP), accelerating the digitalization of licensing and non-licensing services, providing on-site services for businesses, and strengthening integrated investment assistance.

The Jakarta PMPTSP Agency is also strengthening its data-driven investment promotion strategy by mapping investment potential and developing Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) projects that are ready to be presented to investors.

"We ensure that investment opportunities we offer are well-prepared from technical, financial, and market perspectives. This gives investors greater certainty when making investment decisions in Jakarta," he asserted.

Heru said South Jakarta recorded the highest cumulative domestic and foreign investment realization at Rp62.7 trillion.

It was followed by Central Jakarta with Rp49.9 trillion, North Jakarta with Rp23.1 trillion, West Jakarta with Rp20.6 trillion, and East Jakarta with Rp17.1 trillion. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands Regency recorded Rp289 billion in investment realization.

"Jakarta's strong investment performance is supported by various advantages, including integrated infrastructure, a large market, competitive human resources, and an increasingly mature business ecosystem," he said.
