Sidewalk Repair on Jalan Bentengan VI Completed

Personnel from the Tanjung Priok Bina Marga Executing Unit recently finished upgrading the sidewalk at Jalan Bentengan VI, RT 07/05, Sunter Jaya Urban Village.

Having started on August 6, the work is now finished

This work was initiated in response to local government requests to revitalize pedestrian infrastructure and ensure the sidewalk is once again safe and functional for the community.

Tanjung Priok Bina Marga Executing Unit Field Coordinator, Andi confirmed that six personnel were assigned to the project.

"The repairs involved six personnel. Having started on August 6, the work is now finished," he expressed, Tuesday (8/11).

The project involved a 25-meter-long sidewalk segment, one meter wide, which was elevated to 23 centimeters from the street level.

Additionally, personnel finished upgrading a 30-meter stretch on the opposite side of the road.

"We replaced the old materials with new paving blocks and curbs, integrating drainage channels into the design to prevent water pooling when it rains," he explained.

This project received appreciation from Sunter Jaya Urban Village Head, Lutfi.

He pointed out that raising the sidewalk's height was crucial, as it was previously flush with the street—a situation often exploited for illegal parking and street vending.

This had caused the area to look cluttered and hampered pedestrian movement.

"This repair aims to ensure a safer and more comfortable experience for pedestrians, while simultaneously revitalizing the local aesthetics for a more organized and pristine environment," he stated.

He hoped that residents would collectively safeguard the newly repaired public facilities and refrain from using them once again for illegal parking or street vending.

"We hope that following this repair, they (residents) will look after this facility properly and prevent any further misuse," he emphasized.
