"This collaboration can also provide an increasingly comfortable and reliable travel experience for the people of Jakarta," he said, Wednesday (8/12).

PT MRT Jakarta Director, Tuhiyat stated that this partnership between MRT Jakarta and Visa brings the total number of stations on the North-South Line Phase 1 featuring a naming rights program to 11.

"MRT Jakarta pioneered the adoption of this business approach as a form of public-private partnership innovation, becoming the first public transport system in Jakarta, and indeed in Indonesia, to implement it," he stated.

Visa Indonesia Country Manager, Vira Widiyasari explained that, as a global brand in the digital payment system, the partnership with MRT Jakarta demonstrates that Jakarta stands on equal footing with other major metropolitan cities around the world.

"Furthermore, it will bolster the achievement of Jakarta's target to break into the top 50 of the Global Cities Index by 2030," she explained.

She added that pen-loop payments, or direct payments using globally standardized cards, without the need for specific tickets or dedicated cards, are a key component of modern urban mobility, as they make public transport more accessible.

"With the launch of the Visa Blok A MRT Station, we wish to reaffirm Visa’s commitment to supporting the daily mobility of Jakarta’s residents by providing access to global-standard contactless payments that offer greater convenience for locals, commuters, and international tourists alike," she admitted.

As for information, Blok A Visa Station completes the set of 10 stations on the North-South Line Phase 1 that have secured naming rights partnerships—joining Lebak Bulus BSI, Fatmawati Indomaret, Cipete Raya Tuku, Blok M BCA, Senayan Mastercard, ASEAN Headquarters (non-commercial), Istora Mandiri, Setiabudi Astra, Dukuh Atas BNI, and Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta. Meanwhile, Haji Nawi Station and Bendungan Hilir Station remain available for naming rights partnerships.
