Jakarta Stands Firm, Pramono Throws Full Weight Behind Anti-Drug Operations

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has reaffirmed the Jakarta government's unwavering support for law enforcement’s firm actions in eradicating drug syndicates within the capital.

This serves as a crucial reminder for the community

Following a dramatic narcotics raid in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta, Pramono has thrown his full weight behind the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

Speaking to reporters at City Hall on Friday (8/14), he underscored that the Jakarta government will provide total support for any crackdown aimed at cleaning up the streets. The raid, which saw BNN officers facing off against loyalists of a drug fugitive, highlights the high stakes of the city's war on drugs.

"This serves as a crucial reminder for the community. Getting involved with drugs is a dead end. It brings no benefit to one's life or future," he asserted.

By backing these aggressive enforcement tactics, he hopes to deter residents from falling into the cycle of drug abuse and to dismantle the criminal networks operating within the metropolitan area.
