Rano: CIEIE 2026 to Catapult Jakarta’s MSMEs onto the International Stage

Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno is confident that the China Indonesia International E-Commerce Industry Expo (CIEIE) 2026 will be a strategic gateway for Jakarta’s entrepreneurs to enter the international arena. The expo, which will take place at JIExpo Kemayoran from September 3 to 5, 2026, is expected to bridge local products with China’s massive consumer base.

We fully support this initiative to further solidify the economic synergy between Indonesia and China

According to Rano, the Jakarta government is continuously fostering the growth of MSMEs, ensuring they are competitive enough to meet global export standards.

"We fully support this initiative to further solidify the economic synergy between Indonesia and China. This collaboration is built on a foundation of 76 years of diplomatic and trade relations," he expressed, during the CIEIE forum at the Holiday Inn Hotel Gajah Mada, West Jakarta, Tuesday (8/25).

Highlighting future initiatives, he revealed that the 'Just Jakarta' exhibition is set to take place in Guangzhou this September. The Jakarta government will dispatch 23 meticulously curated MSMEs to participate in the international forum.

Rano asserted that Jakarta's industrial roadmap is moving toward a sustainable, high-tech future, focusing on green industries and modern services.

This strategic direction is designed to foster innovation, enhance export capacity, and minimize reliance on imports. The plan also focuses on high-quality workforce absorption and the fortification of Jakarta’s position within the global supply chain and the halal economy.

"We want this event to be more than just a display. It needs to be a catalyst for concrete cooperation, new investment, and expanded market reach for our local entrepreneurs," he closed.
