Area Arrangement on Jl I Gusti Ngurah Rai Completed

The development of a prime area on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, RT 14/17, Klender Urban Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, has been completed. The unused land, previously used as a dumping ground for illegal waste, has been transformed into a park and educational space for the community.

Head Section of Economy and Development for Klender Urban Village, Tiyas Mirnasari said the land measuring approximately 200 square meters was previously in a slum condition because it was used by residents to dump garbage.

In fact, the location is next to the main road and right under the pedestrian bridge which is connected to the Transjakarta bus stop.

"This location was then targeted as a priority area development program for the third quarter," she said, Friday (9/4).

Mirnasari explained that the redevelopment included a garden stretching along the pedestrian bridge's underpass. A monument was also erected at the site with a mural background embracing environmental themes and waste sorting education.

"Various images and educational messages are displayed to beautify the area and encourage the public to care more about environmental cleanliness," she added.

The arrangement of the priority area involved six PPSU officers from Klender Urban Village who have skills in making murals and gardens.

"Work began in early July 2026 and was completed on September 1," she stated.

Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Sofyan (41) expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Klender Urban Village ranks who had carried out arrangements at the location.

"There are lots of ornamental plants and murals that make the area more beautiful and the aesthetics of this area increase," he admitted.
