Tugu Selatan Residents Receive Clean Water Assistance

Residents of RW 04, Tugu Selatan Urban Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, enthusiastically welcomed the distribution of clean water aids distributed by PAM Jaya together with the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management (BPBD) Agency.

Head of RW 04, Tugu Selatan Urban Village, Sarmada said this assistance is eagerly awaited by residents who have had difficulty getting clean water for more than a month.

Sarmada explained clean water distribution is prioritized for residents in four RTs that are directly affected because they are on the same pipeline, namely RT 05, RT 06, RT 08, and RT 09.
Before clean water aid arrived, some residents were forced to queue to get water at local prayer rooms and mosques where the water flow was still relatively smooth.
"We hope PAM Jaya will immediately repair the pipe network so that the water supply can return to normal. We also request that similar assistance be provided periodically while the water supply remains unstable," he hoped.
Head of Tugu Selatan Urban Village, Suparman said clean water assistance targets 253 heads of families spread across four priority neighborhood units (RT).
"The distribution of clean water is prioritized to meet the urgent needs of residents, such as cooking, bathing, and other daily needs," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of North Jakarta BPBD Taskforce, Vitus Dwi Indarto stated the distribution of clean water is part of the "Jaga Jakarta" campaign to prepare for the dry season and ensure the availability of clean water this year.
Similar activities were also carried out in the Kalibaru Urban Village area as a mitigation measure to maintain the availability of water resources for the community.
"For Tugu Selatan, we deployed one BPBD tank with a capacity of 5,000 liters and one PAM Jaya tank with a capacity of 4,000 liters," he stated.
