Several Main Roads in Central Jakarta Sprayed

A total of 150 joint personnel from Satpol, BPBD and Transportation, Police and Army, Tuesday (9/8), again carried out water misting on a number of protocol roads in the Central Jakarta area.

This water spraying was carried out to overcome the impact of the spread of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

The spraying, which involved 32 fleets from the Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency., BPBD and the Environment Sub-agency, was carried out starting from the Monas area in front of Medan Merdeka Selatan, then continuing to the Tani Monument, MH Thamrin, Sudirman until turning around at the Pemuda Monument and returning to Monas.

Central Jakarta Government Assistant, Prasetio Kurniawan said, the spraying was carried out to provide services to the community, while also maintaining health.

"Spraying is carried out to provide services to the community while maintaining health," he added.

Prasetio appealed to residents not to be anxious or worried about the impact of exposure to volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.

He asked residents to use masks when carrying out outdoor activities, and to follow information from the official Jakarta Provincial Government channels.

"Residents can get accurate information about the development of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau," he appealed.
