17 Firefighting Units Tackle Blaze in Dense Jelambar Residential Area

As many as 17 fire trucks successfully brought a fire under control in a densely populated residential area in RT 11/08, Jelambar Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Monday (9/14). It has been confirmed that the incident resulted in no fatalities or serious injuries.

Head Section of Operation for West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Ahmad Syaiful, said the incident was reported at 7:59 through the command center.

"In total, we deployed 17 fire engines with 85 personnel," he said, Monday (9/14).
After the handling, the fire was finally localized at around 8.38 AM or 40 minutes after the incident.
"The alleged trigger and impact of the loss are still being processed," he added.
Head of Jelambar Urban Village, Pradista Machdala Putra stated the area affected by the fire was a densely populated residential area. The fire spread rapidly and destroyed several homes.
"We cannot yet provide data on how many houses were affected and the amount of losses incurred," he admitted.
