South Jakarta BPBD Distributes 44,000 Liters of Clean Water

The South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has distributed 44,000 liters of clean water to residents affected by drought caused by a prolonged dry season.

South Jakarta BPBD Task Force Head Sukendar said the distribution of clean water followed an instruction from the Jakarta GOvernor on preparedness for the dry season.

Sukendar explained that after receiving data on affected residents, the South Jakarta BPBD immediately coordinated and worked with PAM Jaya to provide and distribute clean water to several locations in need.
According to him, within less than a week, 44,000 liters of clean water had been distributed to 195 families in six urban villages and 23 RTs affected by drought.
"To date, the largest number of affected residents are in Jagakarsa, where 105 families are experiencing a shortage of clean water due to the dry season," he pointed out.
Sukendar assured that the South Jakarta BPBD would continue coordinating with urban village offices and RT/RW administrators to monitor residents' needs. Clean water will be distributed again if there are still residents in need.
"We are ready to assist residents who need clean water. BPBD personnel are also on standby 24 hours a day to serve the public," he asserted.
As the dry season reaches its peak, Sukendar called on residents to remain vigilant and take preventive measures to avoid a clean water crisis.
Residents are asked to use clean water wisely and ensure their bore wells remain operational, especially in areas not yet covered by the PAM Jaya piped water network.
"We encourage all residents to get through this dry season by working together and staying mindful of the need to ensure water remains available for everyone," he stressed.
