Aid Distributed to Fire Survivors in Ujung Menteng

The fire, which destroyed 16 homes, occurred on Saturday (9/19). Sixteen families, totaling 49 people, are currently taking refuge in a refugee camp set up by the East Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) not far from the scene.
East Jakarta PMI Assists Fire Survivors in SusukanHead of East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, Agata Bayu Putra said the assistance distributed was in the form of ready-to-eat food and in-kind necessities as a follow-up to a proposal from the Ujung Menteng Urban Village.
According to him, 100 boxes of ready-to-eat food will be provided in the morning, afternoon and evening, along with mineral water, until Tuesday (9/22).
"We are providing seven types of in-kind assistance. We hope this will be helpful to residents affected by the fire disaster," he hoped.
He detailed that the seven types of in-kind assistance consisted of 16 five-kilogram bags of rice, 16 two-liter pouches of cooking oil, 16 bottles of sweet soy sauce, 32 packs of biscuits, 32 cans of sardines, 16 boxes of instant noodles, and 16 goodie bags.
"The aid was handed over to the local urban village head accompanied by RT administrators and the Urban Village Consultative Body (LMK) to be distributed to the survivors who took refuge in the BPBD tent," he explained.
Head of East Jakarta PMI, Bambang Pangestu Aldriyan stated his party also provided assistance to ease the burden on fire survivors.
"The aid provided consisted of eight school kids' packages. Hopefully, this assistance will be beneficial to residents affected by the fire disaster in Ujung Menteng," he stated.
