42 Vehicles Undergo Emissions Testing at the West Jakarta Mayor's Office

The West Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency held free emissions tests in the yard of the local mayor's office on Thursday (9/24). Of the 42 vehicles tested, three failed.

Head of the Sub-agency, Aldi Jansen said the activity was already in accordance with Jakarta Governor Regulation number 66/2020 about motor vehicle exhaust emission testing.

Then, the implementation within the West Jakarta City Government is also in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Mayor of West Jakarta number 1/2026.

"The activity targets private vehicles of employees and operational service vehicles of the West Jakarta City Government," he said.

Although targeting operational and private vehicles of civil servants within the West Jakarta City Government, Aldi admitted that the activity was also opened to the public.

In fact, his party has also socialized the activity through official channels and activity flyers to the public which were distributed at local government offices.

Aldi emphasized that this emission testing activity is important to ensure that vehicles operating in the Jakarta area comply with applicable regulations, so that they do not cause pollution exceeding the established threshold.

The 42 vehicles that took part in the emissions test consisted of four motorbikes, 11 diesel-powered cars and 27 petrol-powered cars.

"Those that failed the emissions test were one motorbike and two petrol-powered cars," he stated.
