Pramono Praises Transportation Agency's Public Service Improvements

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has praised the transformation of public services at the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), saying they have become more people-centered and better aligned with residents' needs.

He made the remarks while attending the 2026 Provincial-Level National Transportation Day celebration at Balai Samudera in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/29).

"I also appreciate the improvements and changes in the way Jakarta Transportation Agency serves the public. In my view, it has become more people-centered, more in touch with the public, and better," Pramono said.

In his remarks, he also said transportation connectivity in Jakarta has now reached 93 percent. With daily mobility across the metropolitan area reaching 42 million trips, better transportation management is needed.

To that end, the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to strengthen integration across LRT, MRT, Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, KRL, Mikrotrans, and JakLingko services. This has also contributed to a more than 15 percent increase in public transport ridership.

"This shows that Jakarta's transportation system has undergone significant improvements," Pramono stressed.

He added that, according to a survey by Kompas Research and Development, 97.5 percent of Jakarta residents are satisfied with transportation services involving Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, MRT, LRT, JakLingko, Mikrotrans, and others.

He said this was also made possible by strong coordination between the Jakarta Provincial Government and the central government. Pramono cited traffic management around JIS during major events as an example of how the coordination had helped improve traffic flow.

"Previously, when there was a concert at JIS, it could take almost two hours to get home because of the crowds. But thanks to good coordination between the Jakarta Government and the Transportation Ministry, KRL trains now stop at JIS. We also established a connection between JIS and Ancol, with all vehicles parked in Ancol," he explained.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaludin said 1,000 participants attended the Provincial-level National Transportation Day celebration, including representatives from the central government, partners, transport operators, and communities.

He said the event served as an opportunity to support Jakarta's development as an integrated and inclusive global city. Good transportation system governance, he added, is built through collaboration among various stakeholders, including the central government, local governments, operators, app-based service providers, and the public.

"Good transportation cannot be built by one party alone. It comes from collaboration, and that collaboration is what we are celebrating together today as part of our shared efforts to connect Indonesia toward a more advanced future," he pointed out.

Budi said transportation transformation involves not only infrastructure development but also a focus on people and the quality of public services.

"That's why we have put these values into practice through five principles for Transportation Agency employees and personnel: integrity, care, professionalism, responsiveness, and a people-centered approach," he asserted.

The event also featured the Pelopor Kita 2026 awards, recognizing individuals and institutions that have pioneered transportation safety and a positive transportation culture.

This year, Pelopor Kita received 768 entries, comprising 685 in the general category and 83 in the special category. The general category included pioneer students, pioneer public transport crews, and pioneer ride-hailing drivers.

The special category included pioneer terminals, pioneer transport operators, pioneer transport app providers, transport-friendly government offices, transport-friendly private company and non-governmental organization offices, pioneer stations, and pioneer residents.
