Work on the integration of the AA Maramis Building with the Lapangan Banteng area is targeted for completion by mid-November. Currently, work is 63 percent complete.
Work progress is 63 percent
It was stated by Jakarta Vice Governor, Rano Karno, during his visit to Flora-Fauna Exhibition at Lapangan Banteng, Wednesday (9/30).

Rano explained that the integration of the AA Maramis Building with the Lapangan Banteng area is part of the grand concept of revitalizing Pasar Baru.
Technically, said Rano, the work will be carried out in stages, starting with the arrangement of Lapangan Banteng and continuing to the Pasar Baru area.
According to Rano, the development of the Pasar Baru area was delayed due to the involvement of numerous private sector groups that own assets in the area. Although they have agreed in principle, the process still requires time to finalize the design.
"The integrated design of Pasar Baru and Lapangan Banteng requires a good concept. I'm confident that Lapangan Banteng will now become a major event venue in Jakarta, following JIS," he said.
Moreover, after this arrangement, an area of approximately 9,000 square meters which was previously an existing road will be arranged into a pedestrian area.
"The arrangement will make the Lapangan Banteng area busier, especially on weekends," he explained.
Rano added that currently his party is finalizing the idea of building a basement parking area under the Lapangan Banteng Football Field.
"There are two football fields that we could potentially build basements for. Just like Sumantri Brodjonegoro, there's a football field above and a basement underneath for parking," he said.
