Boarding School Could Be an Antidote to Radicalism

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat assessed, a boarding school is one of the bulwarks of defense in countering radicalism. Planting Islamic values which hold on rahmatan lil'alamin (blessing for the universe), will form akhlakul karimah (good deeds) souls.

"With dialogue, common vision and perception, communal work, togetherness, ideology of Pancasila, with the standard on Bhineka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity), the spirit of tolerance like this is the hallmark of Indonesia. So it can't be defeated with a group of people who use the guise of religion," he disclosed, in the Dialogue of Prevention of Understand Radical Terrorism and ISIS Among Boarding School Leaders in the Greater Jakarta, at Kartika Chandra Hotel, Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, Thursday (6/23).

According to him, a very pluralistic country will face the threats, provocations among the people to be a nation that is weak and fragmented. To prevent movements of terrorism, is targeting the nation's capital as a goal the dissemination of incorrect understanding.

"We are not surprised when Jakarta always been a main target of acts of religious terrorism. So, please support the experts, the scholars, the boarding school to join with us in order to improve the quality of human resources by planting religious values in our people," he disclosed.
