MRT Jakarta Integrates Ticket Payments with JakLingko from October 12

Starting October 12, 2026, MRT Jakarta passengers using bank-issued electronic money cards, including Mandiri e-money, BNI TapCash, BRI BRIZZI, BCA Flazz, and Bank Jakarta JakCard, as well as Commuterline multi-trip cards (KMT), can tap their cards at JakLingko readers installed at station passenger gates.

Giving passengers a smoother travel experience

The migration to the JakLingko ticket payment system strengthens integration across public transport services.

Commission B Backs Growth Around MRT Stations

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Corporate Secretary Division Head Rendy Primartantyo said the move was part of efforts to make journeys easier, more comfortable, and more seamless, particularly for passengers who use multiple modes of public transport.

He explained that the payment integration also makes it easier for passengers to access integrated fares under Jakarta Governor's Decree No. 773/2022 on Public Mass Transport Fares.

Under the policy, passengers using more than one mode of public transport can pay a maximum fare of Rp10,000 for a three-hour journey involving MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, and Transjakarta BRT.

"Along with integrated fares, the JakLingko payment system is expected to make transactions faster and reduce issues when tapping in, giving passengers a smoother travel experience," he said on Friday (10/9).

He noted that JakLingko payment infrastructure is currently available at 13 MRT Jakarta stations, with 186 JakLingko readers and 60 balance check terminals (BCTs).

From January 2025 to August 2026, 40.86 million passenger trips, or 51.10 percent of all MRT Jakarta trips, used JakLingko gates. Meanwhile, 5.82 million trips, or 7.28 percent, used integrated fares.

He added that passengers using other card types should continue tapping at the designated devices: MRT Jakarta gates for MRT Jakarta single-trip cards and EMV readers for EMV or contactless cards.

"By further strengthening integration, MRT Jakarta will continue working to build a public transport ecosystem that is more connected, inclusive, user-friendly, and affordable, while providing a seamless travel experience for everyone," he said.
