The Affordable Food Movement, initiated by the National Food Agency (BNN), in conjunction with the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture and the State Logistics Agency (Bulog), has been enthusiastically received by residents of Bukit Duri Urban Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta. This program has significantly helped them meet their basic needs amid rising food prices.
Lightens the burden on residents
Entin, a resident of RW 06 in Bukit Duri Urban Village, said she has benefited from the program. The significant price difference between the food sold through the program and market prices has eased her family's financial burden.
Kebayoran Baru Residents Flock to Affordable Food Market"This program really lightens the burden on residents who are currently experiencing economic difficulties, especially because of the large price difference compared to market prices," she said, Thursday (10/22).
Entin hopes this activity can be carried out routinely since it is very beneficial in reducing household expenses.
"If possible, do it regularly and keep the price the same as now. For example, Minyakita is sold for Rp 15,000. I bought four of them to stock at home," she hoped.
Meanwhile, Head of Bukit Duri Urban Village, Muhammad Ngasri stated in this activity, local residents received an allocation of aid through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the form of 100 packages of rice, each weighing five kilograms.
"The rice aid was distributed specifically to community groups in need, namely the elderly, tuberculosis sufferers, and orphans," he stated.
According to him, in addition to rice assistance, the government also distributed 800 shopping coupons worth Rp 15,000 to environmental cadres in the Bukit Duri Urban Village area.
Seeing the high public demand for affordable food, Ngasri hopes that this activity can continue and become an effort to help residents cope with economic pressures.
"We discussed this with the relevant parties. Bulog Jakarta also proposed that similar activities be conducted regularly, at least once every three weeks or at least once a month," he stated.
Ngasri appealed to residents to take advantage of every implementation of this activity to obtain basic necessities at prices more affordable than market prices.
