Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended the Race Expo for the 2026 myBCA Jakarta Running Festival at Istora Senayan, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Friday (10/23). During his visit, he also collected his race pack ahead of participating in the 10K category.

The Jakarta Running Festival has attracted 37,000 participants from 48 countries, including more than 1,000 international runners. Pramono praised the strong turnout and the organizers' professional handling of the event.

The event's professional management was evident in its well-organized race arrangements, merchandise, and the quality of its official jerseys. This year, the Jakarta Half Marathon category also earned World Athletics Gold Label status.
"I commend the organizers, and I hope that in two, three, or four years' time - let's say three years, so we don't have to wait too long - Jakarta Running Festival will be able to host a major marathon here in Jakarta," he said.
To ensure the event runs smoothly, the Jakarta Provincial Government is providing free public transportation for runners as long as they are wearing official race gear. MRT services will also begin operating at 3 AM.
Pramono encouraged runners to take advantage of the free public transportation services. The Jakarta Provincial Government has also implemented traffic management measures to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.
"We ask for the public's understanding, as the Jakarta Provincial Government is fully committed to supporting this event and ensuring it runs smoothly," Pramono noted.
In addition, weather modification operations have been carried out to induce rainfall and reduce high temperatures during the two international events.
Pramono expressed hope that the international running event, which coincides with a Kanye West concert, would proceed smoothly and in an orderly manner.
