The reservoir, covering approximately one hectare, is built to help address flooding in the surrounding area and reduce the water level that previously flowed directly into the Cipinang River.

"The reservoir construction is carried out by the Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency through the implementer who won the auction through the electronic catalog at the service," he said, Tuesday (10/27).
In addition to storing water, this reservoir is designed to control the water flow from the residential areas of RW 06, Ciracas Urban Village and the LRT apartment area before it is channeled into the Cipinang River.
He hopes that the Penganten Ali Reservoir will not only function as a flood control facility, but also become a public space and recreational destination for the community.
"This reservoir is also equipped with a jogging track and other facilities. We hope residents will use and maintain these facilities properly," he hoped.
Meanwhile, project implementer Misran explained that physical work began in August 2026. Currently, his side is focusing on building a 300-meter jogging track with a width of two meters.
"The reservoir is built to a depth of 4.5 meters to maximize its role as a flood control system," he explained.
Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Wahyudin (45) admitted the Penganten Ali Reservoir construction will provide benefits to the community, especially in efforts to overcome flooding.
"We hope the work is completed quickly and residents can feel the benefits. Furthermore, there's a jogging track so residents can exercise here," he admitted.
