The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, symbolically handed over diploma amnesty assistance to 2,810 residents at the 98th Youth Pledge Day commemoration ceremony at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (10/28).
Jakarta Government can be there to help them
The second phase of aid in 2026 reached Rp 4.67 billion through a collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakarta Baznas Bazis.
Mayor Munjirin Hands Over 297 Diplomas to Underprivileged ResidentsPramono said this program aims to assist residents who have been unable to obtain their diplomas due to financial or administrative constraints. With this assistance, residents are expected to obtain the diplomas they need to continue their education or enter the workforce.
"The goal is that all people in Jakarta who have not been able to get their diplomas, hopefully the Jakarta Government can be there to help them get their diplomas," said Pramono.
Pramono added that some residents had even waited years to receive their diplomas. One aid recipient he met had reportedly been experiencing this problem since 2016.
This assistance reaches recipients from various levels of education, from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, to vocational high school. The program also covers 289 residents from learning centers and three students from special needs schools (SLB).
Pramono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government is striving to ensure that no resident loses the opportunity to continue their education or work simply because they cannot afford to obtain a diploma.
"We must ensure that no one is prevented from obtaining a diploma in Jakarta due to economic, administrative, and other issues. Therefore, the government, along with Baznas Bazis, is here to address this issue," he emphasized.
One of the aid recipients, Muhammad Rafli Husain (16), stated he was greatly helped by the program. The graduate of Muhammadiyah 16 High School, Central Jakarta, had previously been unable to obtain his diploma due to financial constraints.
Rafli added that a diploma is a crucial document needed for job applications. He hopes this program can continue to help more people obtain their diplomas.
"I would like to thank for this help. I feel this is very valuable to me," he admitted.
