PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) and the Jakarta Transportation Agency have installed Mobile Concrete Barriers (MCBs) and repainted busway separators along Corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti-Pluit).
The risk of traffic violations and accidents can be reduce
The work was carried out as part of responsive and preventive measures to improve the safety of Transjakarta bus operations, restore exclusive use of the busway, and minimize the risk of traffic accidents caused by non-Transjakarta vehicles, particularly heavy vehicles, entering the busway or colliding with its separators.
Transjakarta Wins IMEA Award 2026Transjakarta Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Head Ayu Wardhani said the completion of the physical maintenance work was part of the company's commitment to ensuring passenger safety and maintaining service reliability.
She noted that installing MCBs and repainting the separators along Corridor 9 were part of efforts to keep the busway clear of unauthorized vehicles.
"With the separators now more visible and properly arranged, the risk of traffic violations and accidents can be reduced," she said on Tuesday (11/3).
According to Ayu, these improvements are essential to maintaining consistent headways between buses and ensuring safety and comfort for Transjakarta customers and other road users.
"Transjakarta once again urges all road users to obey traffic regulations and respect the exclusive busway lanes for everyone's safety and to ensure smooth public transportation services in Jakarta," she asserted.
The work carried out along Corridor 9 included:
- MCB Installation and Structural Repairs: Installing mobile concrete barriers (MCBs) and repairing damaged barriers at accident-prone points and locations where they had been hit by non-Transjakarta vehicles.
- Separator Repainting: Repainting all concrete separators to improve visibility for motorists, particularly at night and in poor weather conditions, and help prevent vehicles from entering the busway by mistake.
- Enhanced Safety Equipment: Installing additional directional signs (chevrons) and solar-powered road studs at key points along the corridor to provide early warnings to road users.
