BPKP and Inspectorate Supervise JEDI Project

Jakarta Urgent Flood Mitigation Project (JUFMP) worked by Jakarta Dept. of Public Works, which previously named as Jakarta Emergency Dredging Initiatives (JEDI), will be assisted by Monetary and Development Supervisor Board (BPKP) and Inspectorate. The supervision is aimed to prevent legal matter due to huge budget allocation.

The same assistance was also applied for JLNT project

Jakarta Head Dept. of Public Works Manggas Rudi Siahaan admitted that he asked assistance to BPKP for several project he works on. Another assistance is also requested to Jakarta Inspectorate.

According to him, three projects namely JUFMP, self-managed flood control facilities development, and giant sea dike construction management in order to support National Capital integrated Coastal Development (NCICD), need supervisor assistance.

A letter numbered 4406/-1712.2 was sent to BPKP on April 7, while a letter numbered 1555/1712/2 signed by Manggas on February 20 was sent to Inspectorate. However, the letters did not forwarded to Jakarta Governor. The forwarded list was only listing Jakarta Vice Governor, Regional Secretary Acting, Regional Secretary Assistant for Development, Sarpras Bureau Head, and officials under Jakarta Dept. of Public Works.

The attachment of multiyears projects to be supervised are also listed on the letters. Those projects are Ria Rio reservoir pump and IKIP channel development Rp 55 billion, JEDI package I Rp 270.5 billion, JEDI package 4 Rp 395 billion, JEDI package 7 Rp 302 billion, flood control facilities Rp 80 billion, and water basin and absorption well Rp 10 billion.

Next are Hailai Marina pump system project Rp 623 billion, Kamal pump system project Rp 934.5 billion, Sentiong Ancol pump system project Rp 623 billion, Karang pump system project Rp 534 billion, Angke pump system project Rp 1.4 trillion, embankment for giant sea dike Rp 2.5 trillion. Those budgets are spread into 2014-2016 budget.

"The same assistance was also applied for JLNT project," Manggas added.
