Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat said the restoration is slated in 2017.

“Not only Onrust, but also Sebira and other islands,” he said, Wednesday (7/13).

Eventhough has long history, Onrust Island condition is terrible. It causes visitor number is low.

“We need to improve the location to attract more visitors. It could be your background for wedding photograph,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head Division of Cultural Heritage Conservation for Jakarta Dept. of Tourism and Culture, Taufik, supports the involvement of the foundation to restore the island.

“We are glad with this. Can not wait the improvement they will provide for the island,” he stated.
