A Settlement in Jati Padang Inundated

A settlement that located at Jl TB Simatupang, Gg. Kecipir, RT 07/04 and Jl Menara, RT 03/04, Jati Padang Urban Village, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta is still inundated by overflowing water of Pulo River.

The initial level is 40 centimeters, but began to recede gradually up to 20-30 centimeters

Pasar Minggu Sub-district Head, Eko Kardiyanto disclosed, inundation was from Betawi Sluice Gate in Depok Baru where it cannot accommodate water from Ciliwung River when heavy rain hit the area on last Sunday (7/17) night.

"The water began to overflow at 8 PM yesterday. But now, it has not receded due to basin area. And now it is still handled by locals and related units," he told, Monday (7/18).

Hence, to accelerate inundation, one fleet of quick response and one unit of pump Sektor IX Pasar Minggu of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept immediately sent to the scene.

"The initial level is 40 centimeters, but began to recede gradually up to 20-30 centimeters," said Arif, Head of Sektor IX Pasar Minggu for South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept.
