Duren Sawit Residents Thronged to Free Health Service

Hundreds of residents lined up to get free healthcare service in the grounds of the Duren Sawit Sub-district, East Jakarta, Wednesday (7/20). The social program is a series of Family Planning (KB) Kesehatan activity at sub-district level.

The city administration will continue to monitor its resident healthy. Including in KB program, we also monitor the growth of population

East Jakarta Deputy Head, Husein Murad disclosed, the health KB is a routine program of Jakarta Provincial Government along with Kodam Jaya and its ranks. Its implementation also involves social and public institutions.

On that occasion, 200 citizens enjoyed the service such as family planning (150 people), teeth (100 people), blood (100 people), pap smear/VA (100 people) and glasses giving (100 people). All programs are free of charge.

"The service is opened to improve people welfare. The city administration will continue to monitor its resident healthy. Including in KB program, we also monitor the growth of population," he told.

Duren Sawit Sub-district Head, Abu Bakar disclosed, last year, the new KB achievement was 10,817 acceptors or 93 percent from target by 11,601 acceptors. While along January-June, the number of new KB applicants is reaching 6,327 acceptors or 53.43 percent from target by 11,842 acceptors.

"We also have service target during Indonesian Army Manunggal/KB Kesehatan 2016 is reaching 381 acceptors that consist of long-term contraceptive method (MKJP) with 100 acceptors and non-MKJP with 281 acceptors," he finished.

Rini (38), one of citizens admitted she joined the program because she will not add more children.

"This is because of economic matters," she admitted.
