A Sidewalk on Jl Jatibaru will Be Widened

The repair and construction process of the sidewalk on Jl Jatibaru, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta has reached 20 percent. The sidewalk will be widened up to six meters.

Sidewalk project that has reached 20 percent is targeted to be complete by the end of this year

"Sidewalk project that has reached 20 percent is targeted to be complete by the end of this year," disclosed Ricky Janus, Section Head of Development of Road and Utility Network Infrastructure (KPJJU) for Jakarta Bina Marga Dept, Thursday (7/21).

He does not know total sidewalk that will be constructed and repaired. But for widening, is from 4.5 meters becomes 6 meters, in accordance with road availability.

Sidewalk Repair in South Jakarta Has Been 25 Percent Done

"Sidewalk wide is compliance with road availability. Such as in Jatibaru starting from Slipi Flyover, there are two tracks until Jl Kebon Sirih and the rest are built with sidewalk," he explained.

He continued the vehicle track reduction will trigger the emergence of traffic jam on the sidewalk at Cipto Mangun Kusumo Hospital (RSCM). However, the vehicle will be more orderly, because the number of vehicles entering and exiting is still the same.

"Indeed, it will lead to long queue, but parallel and more orderly," he closed.
