City Council Urges School Cooperative Establishment Accelerated

Jakarta City Council requests the establishment of school cooperative to be accelerated. It is because school cooperative able to minimize Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) misuse.

Parents will buy school equipment at cooperative

B Commission Member, Syarifuddin, said many student parents are still misusing the KJP. They cooperate with store owner to withdraw money.

“School cooperative will be equipped with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) of Bank DKI. Parents will buy school equipment at cooperative,” he said, Thursday (7/28).

School Cooperative Establishment Awaits Data Collection

He also asks school cooperative to be supervised to avoid selling products more expensive than public stores.

Jakarta Head of KUMKMP, Irwandi, admitted 168 school cooperatives already have legal base, 186 already have managements, and 2040 schools are still processing.

“We’ll provide a role model for school cooperative. It depends on the human resources,” he stated.
