Aid Distributed to Fire Victim in Pondok Bambu

To help fire victims, around two tents were set up near the fire location, Jl Gotong Royong, RT 02/02 Pondok Bambu, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Monday (8/8). Besides that, public kitchen was also set up in front of the tent.

Based on Beritajakarta.com's observations, two tents belonging Social Sub-dept are set up in an empty land near from the scene. Most victims have occupied the refugee camp.

East Jakarta BPBD Head, Indro disclosed that the refugee camp will be exist three days, in accordance with emergency handling procedure. If it is still needed, it could be extended up to three days ahead.

"There are 100 households or 400 fire victims. But those who have been registered in the camp are 60 households and 13 households in Tajul Huda Small Mosque. Some are busy at the scene," he told, Tuesday (8/9).

According to him, besides that, a number of aid are also distributed to the location. It will be stored in the camp.

On the other hand, another camp is broken due to rain. As a result, it cannot be occupied again.

"This is the authority of Social Sub-dept. But they plan to install a valet around the camp to anticipate inundation," he disclosed.

Bayu (38), one of fire victims expressed he may not stay overnight in a tent because of inundation. Moreover, the sides have not been covered. Residents worried the rain will shower in the evening or next morning, they will shiver.

"Supposedly the tent is closed to avoid rainwater. If it is needed, we will put valet," he stated.

Thus far, the aid that provided by East Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Office is reaching 12 boxes of side dishes. Each box contains six packages and each package contains six cans.

His side also provided 100 blankets, 12 packages of toddler equipment containing baby carrier, diapers, bottles, powdered milk, soap, baby oil and other needs.

Not only that, there are also 50 food packages for adult, ranging from sarongs, shirts, shirts, and negligee.
