Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama stated that until now there are still many developers have not fulfilled their obligation to build the social and public facilities. Due to no sanction, Jakarta Provincial Government is having difficulties to collect their social and public facilities obligation.
This is big problem, and there is no legal basis as well. How do we collect it and catch them (developers)?
“
This is big problem, and there is no legal basis as well. How do we collect it and catch them (developers)? That’s why it is better to be president first, before they were the one who became president,” he said, Friday (5/9).According to Basuki, Jakarta Provincial Government is committed not to give permission to the developers whose social and public facilities obligation have not been fulfilled in the previous projects.
“If the same group filed for permit processing, we’ll stop it. The rule is already running. That’s why many entrepreneurs are screaming right now, saying that we hamper development. We cannot please everyone. We’re not here to please everyone anyway,” he expressed.
Basuki admitted that property developers who still have not fulfilled social and public facilities obligation are big companies.
“However, Agung Sedayu and Agung Podomoro have begun to pay their obligations. They are building us flats in Muara Baru and Daan Mogot, and would also do the inspection roads (sterilization),” he uttered.
For information, the developers who have been given permit to build properties are obligated to build social and public facilities. Based on Jakarta Spatial Department data, from 2,000 permits on land use (SIPPT) issued in 2013, only about 14 percent of developers met their social and public facilities obligation.
