Ciliwung River Normalization Period Extended

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama said Ciliwung normalization period is extended. It is because the flat for riverbank resident relocation is being prepared.

Previously, normalization target was completed by the end of 2016. “We need to extend the period up to next year since the flat is not ready,” he said, Tuesday (8/16).

If there is a lawsuit from residents, he added, normalization could run longer. Relocation must await the law process to complete first.

Relocation Only for Riverbank Citizens

Basuki admitted still relocating Bukit Duri residents. They are relocated to Rawa Bebek flat. Almost 100 households are relocated to the flat.

Previously, Jakarta Provincial Government has relocated Kampung Pulo residents to Jatinegara Barat flat. Sheet pile installation at Kampung Puloe is almost complete.
