Basuki to Take Over All On-street Parking to Increase Revenue

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama intends to take over all management of on-street parking in the capital. It is estimated that the policy could increase revenue from parking tax.

This year, it is targeted to reach Rp 500 billion of parking tax. Jakarta Transportation Dept plans to install the electronic parking terminal (TPE) at every on-street parking.

By doing so, the tax revenue leakage can be minimized. Currently, TPE machine is on order through e-Catalog. This method can also eradicate any actors who play in the parking tax.

"We offer them one provincial minimum wage (UMP), they will get small. And the boss gets a huge nominal," he disclosed.
