RTH Additional in City Still Constrained by Land

Until now, the green open space (RTH) wide has reached 9.5-9.8 percent of the capital area. The number is still far from statutory provision where the availability of green space should be 30 percent.

It seems rather to hit 30 percent, because of unavailability land

Vice Head of City Development Planning Board (Bappeda), Subagiyo disclosed, every year, the number of green space in the capital is increasing. Yet it has not been able to meet the target.

RPTRA Construction in Cengkareng Begins

"It has reached at last 9.5 percent of total Jakarta area," he told, at City Hall, Thursday (8/25).

According to him, the difficulty of adding green space is due to lack of land. Besides that, land price is expensive.

"It seems rather to hit 30 percent, because of unavailability land," he expressed.

He added, nevertheless, the city administration continues to get around the lack of green space with emphasis on the development of RPTRA.

"The step is already there to add public space," he closed.
