Jakarta Provincial Government prepares way to force citizens using private transport to use public transport.
New parking tariff can be applied for road with many vehicles
One of the ways is increasing on street parking tariff by Rp 10,000 for car and motorcycles.
Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, said vehicles entering to Jakarta are 7.5 million units. Some of the vehicles are parked on the road side (on street).

“New parking tariff can be applied for road with many vehicles,” he said, Thursday (8/25).
Meanwhile, Jakarta Dept. of Transportation Vice, Sigit Wijatmoko agreed with Djarot’s plan.
Today’s on street parking for motorcycle is Rp 2,000 and Rp 4,000 for car. If applying the new tariff, it becomes Rp 12,000 for motorcycles and Rp 14,000 for cars.
