Krukut River Must Be Normalized, Djarot Says

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat disclosed, a number of rivers in the capital should be normalized immediately. Thus far, indeed, some buildings standing on the riverbank has hampered normalization process.

"Krukut and Grogol rivers must also be normalized, because they are full of mud," said Djarot, Monday (8/29).

He cited flood that hit Kemang area, Bangka, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta on Saturday (8/27) in which a building stood atop on the riverbank was collapsed because could not withstand strong water flow from Krukut River. Hence, the building permit on the riverbank should be evaluated.

Krukut River Normalization Awaits Flat Availability

"Buildings nearby the riverbank must be evaluated in overall," he disclosed, in Kebayoran Lama, Monday (8/29).

He disclosed, South Jakarta is a absorption area and green open space, thus building permit must be tightened thus switching function can be avoided. 

As known, heavy rain that poured the capital on Saturday (8/27) afternoon and flash flood from Bogor, causing water in Krukut River overflowed and inundated Kemang area, Bangka, South Jakarta.
