Well Management Needed for 20 Folk Markets

Jakarta City Council asks traditional markets under PD Pasar Jaya to be managed well.

The market renting cost is paid by the traders

Jakarta City Council Commission D Member, Prabowo Soenirman, said the PMP fund to fund 20 traditional markets construction must be on target.

“The market renting cost is paid by the traders,” he said, Wednesday (8/31).

According to him, since the fund using PMP, PD Pasar Jaya must give more contribution to Jakarta Provincial Government.

“If the PMP is not used wisely, PD Pasar Jaya will collapse in the next 10 years,” he added.

Meanwhile, PD Pasar Jaya Director, Arief Nasrudin, agrees with the council suggestion.

Traders also disagree if the market is free. It is because the Business Letter (SKU) can not be used to get bank soft loan.

“Folk market is not free,” he added.
