Transjakarta Targets 15 Million Passenger Per Month

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) keeps increasing its service in order to gain more passengers.

Last month passenger number was 11.6 million

It is targeted that Transjakarta passenger to reach 15 million per month.

PT Transjakarta Director, Budi Kaliwono, said the passenger number has reached 11.68 million people in last August.

Transjakarta Security Frequency to Be Added

“Our target is 15 million passenger per month. Last month passenger number was 11.6 million,” he said, Friday (9/2).

Several ways are run to increase the passenger number. One of the ways is adding the fleet and lane sterilization by involving Jakarta Dept. of Transportation and City Police.

“Based on our analysis, lane sterilization and odd-even are success,” he added.

According to him, average passenger number in August was 374 thousand per day. The number is 10 percent higher compared to June by 10.2 million.

“No comparison with July because of Lebaran holiday,” he continued.

During the odd-even traffic system application, his side operates 1,000 buses from previous 850 buses. The buses are added to shelters under odd-even system.
