Plaza Kalibata Waste Channel Sealed

Jakarta Regional Environmental Board (BPLHD) seals the waste channel of Plaza Kalibata, Pancoran, South Jakarta. The closing is run since the waste complained by local residents.

Based on the sample, the waste contains many dangerous substance

BPLHD Head, Juanedi, admitted residents often complaining about the liquid waste disposed by the plaza. Not only stink, it is afraid the waste will pollute the environment.

Qurban Committee Should Monitor Sanitation

As the first sanction, his side closed the channel on August 4. The plaza management then sent letter to the governor, but governor instructed them not to dispose the waste to the river.

After that, the management opened the sealed on August 30. His personnel then sealed the channel again on September 5. If the management opens the seal again, his side will bring the case to the court.

“They will spend Rp 40 million a day for waste transportation. That’s the reason,” he added.

According to him, the seal can be opened if the management has improved the waste installation.
