City Targets Saving Energy 30 Percent with Green Building

Jakarta Provincial Government confirms its position as Center of Excellence for green building. It is signed with the signing of commitment to reduce water consumption, and CO2 from buildings in the capital.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama said there are 260 buildings have applied green building concept.
“The buildings have applied electricity saving, waste installation and lighting based on the energy,” he said, Wednesday (9/14).

Then energy saving from 850 thousands mega watt hour (MWh) per year, and electricity bill by US$ 68.3 million.
“Our target is reducing up to 30 percent by 2030,” he added.
IFC Country Manager, Azam Khan, explained governor regulation about green building in Jakarta is the first in Indonesia. The regulation is also the first issued in East Asia and Pacific.
“It’s a big achievement,” he stated.
