A tornado destroyed dozens of homes in Tidung Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands today, Thursday (9/22) at dawn.
The worst damage happens in RW 03 and 02. There is also a person injured after being hit by the fallen tree
Based on the information gathered, strong winds accompanied by lightning hit a residential on Tidung Island at around 2 AM. Most of homes are damaged at roof.
Tornado also tore down an electrical pole which is a radio tower belongs to Jakarta Transportation Dept, a TPU wall and a tree in the location.
"The worst damage happens in RW 03 and 02. There is also a person injured after being hit by the fallen tree," expressed Yatim Husen, an officer of Tidung Island Urban Village Satpol PP.
Meanwhile, Head of Seribu Islands Regency BNPB, Ali Laman disclosed, heading to the island to check the damage in the field.
"The loss is not yet calculated. The number of damaged homes are still investigated. No casualties in this incident," he stated.
