Jakarta Dept. of Cleanliness Vice, Ali Maulana, said the cleaning was obstructed by semi-permanent buildings along the riverbank.

“The semi-permanent buildings obstructed us cleaning the river,” he said, Thursday (9/22).

Based on the transported waste from the river by 6 tons, he assessed the area is never been cleaned for long time.

“It should be tens of years never been cleaned,” he closed.
