Jakarta Wage Board is discussing about 2017 UMP. Along with that, Jakarta Provincial Government will set the UMP in accordance with Government Regulation No. 78/2015 on Wage.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama said would obey the regulation. In Government Regulation No. 78/2015, has written the formula of the UMP. The formula is this year's UMP plus the growth of national economy and national inflation.
"Our benchmark is not about how much, surely must obey the regulation," he expressed, at City Hall, Thursday (10/13).
2017 City UMP Discussion Session Held TodayThe previous UMP was always based on basic cost of living (KHL). Because the government regulation was issued, so the initial regulation is not used anymore.
"You (workers) would be better to follow on such regulation. If you follow on KHL, your UMP won't increase or even decrease," he explained.
This is because, Jakarta government has subsidized various sectors, such as health, transportation, education and assure basic needs with stable price.
"Your wage should be Rp 3.2 million or Rp 3.4 million, with living cost is Rp 2.5 million. As you know, we give you free Transjakarta service, cheap flat, BPJS Kesehatan. Don't worry, we'll cover," he finished.
