The heirs of Kapuk Teko Public Cemetery (TPU), Kampung Apung, RW 01, Kapuk Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District, West Jakarta, can finally see their family graves. After inundated for 24 years for as deep as two meters, the cemetery has totally dried. The gravestones can be clearly seen now even though they are still covered by mud. Moreover, the ground of residents’ settlement and the connecting bridge in that area can also be seen although still covered by half meter high mud.

Finally, it came true ,” he expressed, Monday (5/19).Together with Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department, Rodawi and other heirs have discussed about the plan to relocate the graves to Tegal Alur Cemetery, as promised by the department. “We are ready to move our family’s graves. We’re now waiting for the next step from Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department,” he uttered.

We will open the registration for the heirs in Kapuk Teko Cemetery,” he stated.
According to Yuswardi, if everything went well, the relocation will be conducted in upcoming September until October.
