Village Chief Urged to Form Rats Eradication Movement

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat instructs all village chiefs in five cities and one regency in Jakarta to encourage the Rats Eradication Movement (GBT).

"I'll tell village chief to form the Rats Eradication Movement (GBT). Most rats in Jakarta are big," he stated, after conducting Friday prayer at Jami At-Taqwa Mosquw, Rawa Terate, Cakung, East Jakarta, Friday (10/14).

According to him, such step should be taken, because rats in Jakarta, especially in densely populated areas are fairly numerous and alarming residents especially those aged under five.

He ensured will provide incentives for residents who can catch. He asked the village chief to employ freelancer under Cleanliness Dept and PPSU. 

"If you can catch one rat, we will give Rp 20 thousand. Moreover, it can be used as fertilizer," he finished.
