West Jakarta Parks Strewn with Commercial Banners

It is a fact that parks in West Jakarta are no longer filled with various plants now, but also strewn with commercial banners. This condition makes those parks look disorganize and unpleasant to be seen.

Those banners should have been controlled to make the park looks beautiful and green

One of those parks is the one located at Srengseng intersection, Srengseng Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-District. There, four big-size commercial banners are making the park looks slum.

Isah (40), a motorcycle-taxi driver (ojek) based in that location, said those banners have been installed there since three months ago and never controlled up until now.

West Jakarta Parks Poor in Maintenance

Those banners should have been controlled to make the park looks beautiful and green,” he uttered, Wednesday (5/21).

The same condition is also found in Triangle Park at Daan Mogot intersection, Cengkareng. Three medium-size banners are installed inside the park area. Thus, the park becomes covered by those banners.

Responding this matter, Head of West Jakarta Satpol PP, Kadiman Sitinjak, admitted that his party has repeatedly lowered banners or posters which were often installed in those parks. Because of that, he denied that the existence of those banners is due to lack of supervision.

“We often lowered banners (installed in the parks) to return the parks’ function. Parks must be sterile from anything, and must be opened. For that, we will lower those banners as soon as possible,” he stated.
