Jakarta Acting Governor, Sumarsono acknowledged has signed the gubernatorial regulation about Betawi Culture Ornamental. The regulation is derivative of Bylaw No. 4/2015 on Betawi culture preservation.

"Yesterday, I signed the gubernatorial regulation about Betawi ornamental, I think it is issued and socialized as soon as possible," he disclosed, at City Hall, Monday (11/7).

He assessed the culture is the last defense of a nation. Moreover Jakarta is a capital city, which consisted of various races.

"It's very important and that's the foundation upon which we stand to build anything and we must strengthen the culture. That is my principles," he exclaimed.

He encourages various cultures of Betawi to be developed in the city. The infrastructure development is much needed, but without forgetting the culture.

"I was frankly encourage cultural tourism and to begin to develop it. I emphasize any festival, go ahead, as long as it is clearly," he finished.
