Council Wants ERP to Be Imposed in Five Cities

City Council (DPRD) revealed that the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) should be realized in the upcoming 2017. Even, if it is successfully imposed at Jl Sudirman and Kuningan, similar step will be imposed in five other cities.

"If the program runs well next year, it will be imposed on some roads that spread in five cities," expressed Tubagus Arif, Chairman of City Council Commission B, Monday (11/7).

Tubagus hoped its implementation is part of the solution in an effort to solve the problem of congestion in the capital. If it is imposed, it would influence on a motor vehicle restriction program through odd-even system.

ERP Targeted to Be Implemented in 2017

"Odd-even system can be stopped or continued, depending on the ability of local government to provide facilities to support the ERP system, namely the provision of park and ride facilities in some areas," he disclosed.

He added, it has been set in Gubernatorial Regulation that finally becomes the finding of Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU). 

"Council hopes this matter is not protracted, should be solved because we want the system to be imposed next year. Don't be postponed," he stressed.

As planned, a number of roads in the capital that will be imposed are at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Gajah Mada-Jalan Hayam Wuruk and Kuningan Corridor starts from Jalan Buncit Raya-Jalan HR Rasuna Said and ends at Tugu 66.
