Anti HPV Immunization to Be Made as National Program

The program of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) anti virus immunization  must be made as national program. This immunization is able to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.

“The vaccine will be produced by biofarma to be made as national program. Our neighbor countries like Singapore and Malaysia have run the program first,” said Prof. Andrijono, Indonesia Association of Oncology Gynecology Head, Monday (11/28).

He added that the program can be held in Jakarta as the pioneer for other regions. It is because the equipments are ready to hold the program.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Head Dept. of Health, Koesmedi Priharto, hoped all side will support the program much. Cervical cancer prevention could reach 100 percent is injected to ages who have never been infected.

“It starts from young girl at 9-13 years old,” he stated.
