City Eyes Other Regions for Cattle Fattening

Jakarta Provincial Government will widen its wing for cattle fattening to other regions. The main target is to fulfill the meat necessity for the capital which reaches 600-800 cows per day.

Acting Jakarta Governor, Sumarsono targets other regions near Jakarta for cattle fattening. Several regions outside Java have cooperated with city administration for the same project.

“I will invite other regions for this project,” he said, Tuesday (11/29).

Cheap Meat is Provided to Protect Local Breeder

Jakarta has cooperated with Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), Lampung, and Bangka Barat.

At this moment, PD Dharma Jaya is still able to fulfill 350 cows per month. In fact, the necessity is 600-800 cows per day.

“PD Dharma Jaya only covers three percent of its market share. The rest is supplied by imported meat,” he closed.
