Jakarta Ambulance Service Can Serve 2,400 Calls Every Month

The free ambulance service belongs to BULD for Emergency Ambulance Service Unit (AGD) under Jakarta Health Dept is pretty enthused by the public. 

This year, the AGD has served 2,400 calls every month. It is higher than last year which reached 1,800-1,900 calls

Head of Ambulance Service Unit for Jakarta Health Dept, Erizon Safari disclosed, along 2016, the ambulance service can serve 2,400 calls every month. The number has increased 600 calls every month compared to last year. That means most people have been familiar with such service.

City Health Dept. Needs More Ambulance

"This year, the AGD has served 2,400 calls every month. It is higher than last year which reached 1,800-1,900 calls," he stated, Monday (12/19).

The number of the highest calls is achieved by East and Central Jakarta. Thus far, the obstacles that are often faced are the number of units and personnel in the field do not meet the demand.

Currently, with 31 posts in five cities, there are only available 48 ambulances. Not only that, to recruit medical personnel, it is also difficult because it is prioritized to those who have experience.

"We need more personnel. From 399 applicants, only 69 people are eligible. Because we seriously to do recruitment," he expressed.

Erizon ensured, next year, his side has proposed additional unit up to nine ambulances and 40 personnel.

"We've proposed it for next year," he finished.
